Back to the basics

Cashing out, running bad and ego issues have taken its toll on my bankroll.

I hereby promise to never post/share unlucky and bad beat hands unless I want to discuss certain aspects of strat about it.

Also back to grinding the 50NL on stars, my bread and butter. I never checked my PT database for 50NL but I did a few days ago and saw that I am 2.6ptbb/100 over 120k hands. It's a great confidence booster to have the knowledge and proof to back up my ability to be able to beat this game at this level. I'll post my graph later.

Account on stars currently 1.3k and a measly 125 dollars on FTP. The plan is to grind another 100k hands at 50NL, 5ptbb/100 and the $5 HU SnGs on tilt as I really dont want to deposit again and I have some rakeback on the site.

I'll also play the supernova weekly freerolls for weekly shots at the 12k for 1st prize. I ran deep last time I played but lost 2 major hands putting money ahead resulting in 125th/1620.

Oh well, back to square 1, read an article Phil Laak wrote for Bluff yesterday, was very motivating reading about how Phil Laak had grown his net worth to 80k, thought he was a balla, and managed to drop down all the way to -8k all in 1 bet without bankroll management.

He talks about how he had to grind the low stakes backgammon games and how he had to walk 80 minutes from his friend's place he was crashing at to the gaming club. He also describes his emotions and feelings when he could finally afford the $1.5 fare for the subway.

Phil Laak may not be (most likely not) as good a poker player as the other online aggro big names like durrrr and Patrick Antonius but hes been through his lows and I respect him very much both as a player and a person.

GOGOGO I've had a tough time getting through my swings but I'm a better player now. I took up poker seriously since December and I feel I've gone a long way. Thank you BTD for always being there to listen to my rants and bad beat stories, I promise I won't tell anymore of those. Thank you Raymondo for believing in me, you never stopped. Thank you Silly Willy for always being cool and a great friend in general. Most importantly, I have to thank Catherine, my girlfriend, for always supporting my passion and recognising poker was so important for me.

For those who believe in me and support me, I will bounce back and come back a better player. I will not give up my goal to one day play Joey at 5kNL+ (Joey I'm coming for you).

From now on I will post more interesting hands I would like to talk about and maybe regular updates on my results. Monthly graphs will be uploaded as I begin to put in more volume.
